Studying on the Go: Using Offline Mode in Noji

Offline mode in Noji is a lifesaver for those moments when you have no internet but still need to review your flashcards. It lets you download essential decks in advance, so you can continue studying during commute or in areas without connection — perfect for those pre-exam cram sessions!

How to Enable Offline Mode

Activating Offline mode is very simple. Just navigate to the settings for the deck you want to use and choose the Offline learning option.

When your device loses access to internet, Noji will automatically switch to Offline mode. You’ll only be able to access the decks you've previously downloaded, allowing for uninterrupted study sessions.

Make sure to download your decks before heading to places where internet is unavailable, such as on flights or during long commutes!

Once downloaded, your decks will stay updated automatically. Noji will sync any changes — new cards, deletions, or edits — when you reconnect to the Internet, ensuring your study materials are always up-to-date.

Checking Your Download Status

To verify that your decks are fully downloaded, look for a confirmation message when you preview your deck. This way, you can confidently review your cards, whether on a train or anywhere else.

This feature also supports sub-decks; when you download the main deck, all its associated sub-decks will be available as well.

Additional Offline Settings

Under the app’s general settings, you'll find options related to Offline mode:

  • Download Only on Wi-Fi: Decide if you want to download files using both Wi-Fi and Mobile Data (default) or limit downloads to Wi-Fi only.

  • Clear Cache: Use this option to free up space or disable Offline mode if it's no longer needed.

Managing Your Study Progress Offline

You can continue your studies offline without losing any progress. After you finish reviewing your downloaded cards, you’ll be prompted to reconnect to sync your progress. Enjoy the satisfaction of completing an offline study session!

Important to note!

  • Sub-decks: You can’t download sub-decks separately, but they will be available if you download the main deck.

  • Deck Limits: You can download up to 3 decks for offline use, with a cap of 200 cards per deck.

  • Algorithm Restrictions: Only decks using Spaced Repetition algorithms are compatible with Offline mode. General Learning algorithms do not support Offline access.

  • Editing: Adding or modifying cards is not possible while offline.

  • Text-to-Speech: This feature remains operational as usual.

With Noji's Offline mode you can make the most of your study time no matter where you are!
